With San Antonio cost of living being much lower than many other locations you may find it very cost effective to fly him to your out of state location.

In today's tight economy you will find almost anyone with a camera wants to do paid work. Unfortunately they are usually unprepared in terms of equipment and ability to handle the normal issues that happen on most photo shoots. I would suggest limiting your search to full time professional with the knowledge and equipment to do the job right the first time.

A photo must connect with the viewer and good eye contact is required. Another factor you will see is concentration on the subject being photographed. Busy backgrounds are fine for fashion but not a good idea for professional portraits or actor head shots where the client should be the main focus of the image. This way I am sure you have a clean, non pixilated image for your web site even if you don't have the photo programs to do the conversions yourself.
