Photography has several components that set apart individual photographers. The reason is photography is a set of learned skills adapted to unique situations and not a set procedure done the same way every time. The major difference between photographers is technical know-how, artistic perspective and experience handling many different situations and lighting conditions, plus having the right equipment as well as backup equipment at every event. These fundamentals set my event photography apart from many others.

Taking quality images is only the beginning. Most clients looking for an event photographer think the work starts and ends when the 2 ,3 or 5 hours of event photography coverage is over. On the contrary, this is when the technical work really begins. In the past people recognized that film photography required processing in the dark room and an expert could bring out the best in each image. Digital photography is the same if not more demanding. With the number of images shot increasing so does the time it takes to edit and adjust the best images. For example a 2 hour event may require 3 hours of post processing to bring out the best in each images that will be burned onto CD or printed.

Many photographers pride themselves in the ability to burn a copy within minutes of the event finishing. While this may sound good it shows that photographer either does not care about providing a quality product or does not have the knowledge to take their images to a professional level. Unfortunately in this unregulated business the later is usually the case. Mediocre work is more the standard than the exception. Several select photos can be made available the next day for media use.

My event photography fees include complete editing and adjustments of the final images using several different programs as well as full reproduction and use rights to all images. I provide a full resolution file for print and a small file for social media use. I use DPP for the first phase in processing the RAW files. Next I use Light room and Photo shop to apply finer adjustments to each image as required. I also have Errors & Omissions coverage thru the PPA trust to protect both my clients and myself in the unlikely event something beyond my control happens.

In addition to digital files 4x6 prints are available. The 4x6 prints are delivered in an leather album are only .25 each. For those who prefer a more elegant presentation, I have Hard Cover Coffee Table books available to showcase your event. These are perfect to show the overall ambiance of the event.
